- Application Notes
- When used for functional cellular assays (mast cell / basophil activation) at dilutions < 1:100, the Na-azide free formulation is recommended. Quality assurance: Reactivity > 99 %, compared to calibrator (Internal Standard mAb BSW17), tested by ELISA binding to immobilized human Standard IgE (SUS-11)

- Precaution of Use
- WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
- Handling Advice
- Monoclonal antibodies should not be stored at a temperature below -25 °C due to the aggregation effect of the protein.
- Storage
- 4 °C

- Background
- The antibody recognizes a conformational epitope within the Ce3 domain of human IgE spanning towards the amino-terminal part of the Ce4 domain. It blocks the binding of IgE to its high affinity receptor on mast cells and basophils. It is therefore suited as an inhibitory reference compound for mast cell modulator profiling and basic research on IgE mediated mast cell receptor signaling.
