Application Notes: Peptide ELISA: 1: 64000 (limit dilution). Western blot: 0.2-0.6 μg/mL. Approx 37 kDa band observed in Human Duodenum, Heart andKidney lysates (calculated MW of 36.7 kDa according to NP_001830.1).
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Background: Calponin is a thin filament associated protein that is implicated in the regulation and modulation of smooth muscle contraction. It is capable of binding to actin, calmodulin, troponin C and tropomyosin. The interaction of calponin with actin inhibits the actomyosin Mg-ATPase activity. Unlike basic calponin, the expression of acidic calponin is not restricted to smooth muscle, it can be detected in a number of different cells and tissues.Synonyms: CNN3, Calponin acidic isoform
