- Cross-Reactivity (Details)
- Cross reactivity against Alanine Transaminase (ALT) from other sources is unknown.
- Purification
- Alanine Transaminase is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Sheep Serum as well as purified and partially purified Alanine Transaminase (ALT) [Pig Heart].

Application Note: Anti-Alanine Transaminase has been assayed against 1.0 μg of Alanine Transaminase (ALT) [Pig Heart] in a standard capture ELISA using ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) code # ABTS-100 as a substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature. A working dilution of 1:1,000 to 1:3,000 of the reconstitution concentration is suggested for this product.

Background: Alanine Transaminase is a transaminase enzyme that catalyzes the reversible transamination between alanine and 2-oxoglutarate to form pyruvate and glutamate. Alanine Transaminase is found in plasma and in various bodily tissues, but is most commonly associated with the liver. It participates in cellular nitrogen metabolism and also in liver gluconeogenesis starting with precursors transported from skeletal muscles.
