The NKX2.5 (NK2 homeobox 5, CSX, Homeobox protein CSX, NKX2E, Homeobox protein NK-2 homolog E, NK2 transcription factor related, locus 5, CHNG5, cardiac-specific homeobox 1) gene encodes a homeobox-containing transcription factor that functions in heart formation and development. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Implicated in commitment to and/or differentiation of the myocardial lineage. Acts as a transcriptional activator of ANF in cooperation with GATA4. Also interacts with JARID2 which represses its ability to activate transcription of ANF. NKX2.5 antibody (pAb) was raised in a Rabbit host. It has been validated for use in Western blot, it has been shown to react with Human samples.
