- Background
- SETD2 (SET Domain Containing 2) is a histone methyltransferase that methylates histone H3 at lysine 36. H3K36 methylation is associated with active chromatin. SETD2 also contains a novel transcriptional activation domain and has been found associated with hyperphosphorylated RNA pol II. Recombinant SETD2 (1392-2564) includes amino acids 1392-2564 that contains the SET domain of SETD2 that catalyzes methylation of lysine residues.
