- Background
- UFC1 is an E2-like conjugating enzyme for ubiquitin-fold modifier-1. UFM1 is activated by a novel E1-like enzyme, UBA5, by forming a high-energy thioester bond. Activated UFM1 is then transferred to its cognate E2-like enzyme, UFC1, in a similar thioester linkage. Recombinant human UFC1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography. Synonyms: Ubiquitin-fold modifier-conjugating enzyme 1, HSPC155. NCBI no.: NP_057490
