- Background
- Annexin A8-like 2, also known as ANXA8L2, is a member of the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid binding proteins. Annexin family members have been implicated as regulators of such diverse processes as ion flux, endocytosis and exocytosis, and cellular adhesion. ANXA8L2 is a membrane binding protein with diverse properties, including voltage-sensitive calcium channel activity, ion selectivity and membrane fusion. Overexpression of ANXA8L2 has been associated with acute myelocytic leukemia. Recombinant human ANXA8L2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
