|Alternative Name||GPBAR1 / TGR5 (GPBAR1 Antibody Abstract)|
|Background||GPBAR1/TGR5 is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family (GPCRs, or GPRs) which contain 7 transmembrane domains and transduce extracellular signals through heterotrimeric G proteins. GPCR TGR5 is a receptor for bile acids. Bile acid-binding induces its internalization, activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase and intracellular cAMP production. It may be involved in the suppression of macrophage functions by bile acids.Synonyms: BG37, G-protein coupled bile acid receptor 1, G-protein coupled receptor GPCR19, M-BAR, Membrane-type receptor for bile acids|
|Pathways||WNT Signaling, Hormone Transport, Sensory Perception of Sound|

Western Blot: 2-4 μg/mL. Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections: 10 μg/mL. This antibody was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigenretrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides wereincubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkalinephosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by apathologist to confirm staining specificity.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
