- Specificity
- Recognizes poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP-1), a ~116kD nuclear enzyme cleaved during apoptosis. PARP-1, a caretaker enzyme, is involved in DNA damage repair, plays roles in diabetes pathophysiology and tumor proliferation.). As well as protecting cells from genomic instability, PARP-1 is involved in the development of both inflammatory and immune responses, and cell death by apoptosis and necrosis. Targets PARP-1, an enzyme which represents a promising target for new developments in therapeutic treatment of immune mediated diseases. PARP-1 has considerable potential for delivering selective tumor cell killing while sparing normal cells.

- Application Notes
-
Approved: ELISA (1:1000 - 1:5000), IHC, IHC-Fr, IHC-P (10 μg/mL), IP, WB
Usage: Immunohistochemistry: This antibody was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by a pathologist to confirm staining specificity. The optimal working concentration for this antibody was determined to be 10 μg/mL. - Comment
