Application Notes: Western blot: 1/1000. Immunoprecipitation: 1/100. Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections: 10 μg/mL. This HMOX1 Antibody was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigenretrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides wereincubated with biotinylated Rabbit IgG antibody, followed by alkalinephosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Background: Heme oxygenase, an essential enzyme in heme catabolism, cleaves heme to form biliverdin, which is subsequently converted to bilirubin by biliverdin reductase, and carbon monoxide, a putative neurotransmitter. Heme oxygenase activity is induced by its substrate heme and by various nonheme substances. Heme oxygenase occurs as 2 isozymes, an inducible heme oxygenase-1 and a constitutive heme oxygenase-2.
