- Western Blotting (WB), ELISA
- Specificity
- Recognizes SP-1 also known as Schwangerschaft's protein 1 or pregnancy beta1glycoprotein, a glycoprotein marker synthesized in the syncytial trophoblasts of the placenta and secreted into maternal circulation as gestation progresses. SP-1 glycoprotein has been extensively investigated as an indicator of pregnancy affected by trisomy, particularly as an indicator of down's syndrome affected pregnancy where it appears that maternal levels of SP-1 glycoprotein are significantly elevated compared to uneventful pregnancy.
