Purpose
MRE11 is a protein encoded by the MRE11 gene which is approximately 80,5 kDa. MRE11 is localised to the nucleus and is involved in DNA double-strand break repair, cytosolic sensors of pathogen-associated DNA and telomere length maintenance. By itself, the protein has 3' to 5' exonuclease activity and endonuclease activity. In conjunction with a DNA ligase, it promotes the joining of noncomplementary ends in vitro using short homologies near the ends of the DNA fragments. MRE11 is expressed in the nervous system, liver and blood. Mutations in the MRE11 gene may result in ataxia-telangiectasia-like disorder, Nijmegen breakage syndrome and hereditary breast ovarian cancer. STJ94194 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of MRE11 protein.
Specificity
MRE11 Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of MRE11 protein.
Characteristics
Rabbit polyclonal to MRE11.
Purification
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen.
Immunogen
Synthesized peptide derived from human MRE11 around the non-phosphorylation site of S264.
