May play a role in the regulation of cellular growth and transformation of activated lymphoblasts. Regulates gene expression through activation of NF-kappa-B. CD30 is useful in diagnosis of classic Hodgkin's lymphoma, anaplastic large cell lymphoma and embryonal carcinoma.
