Antigen
Alternative Name TGF-Beta1 (TGFB1 Antibody Abstract)
Background TGF-β(transforming growth factor-beta) is a family of multifunctional proteins. TGF-β was originally identified for its ability to induce the growth of normal rodent fibroblast in soft agar. It is now known that TGF-β is a potent growth inhibitor of many normal and transformed cell lines. It regulates normal cell growth, development and tissue remodeling following injury. TGF-β is produced as latent high molecular weight complexes. The activation of latent TGF-β is an important step in the regulation of its action.
Synonyms: Transforming growth factor beta-1, TGF-beta-1
Gene ID 7040
UniProt P01137
Pathways EGFR Signaling Pathway, Dopaminergic Neurogenesis, Cellular Response to Molecule of Bacterial Origin, Glycosaminoglycan Metabolic Process, Regulation of Leukocyte Mediated Immunity, Regulation of Muscle Cell Differentiation, Positive Regulation of Immune Effector Process, Cell-Cell Junction Organization, Production of Molecular Mediator of Immune Response, Ribonucleoside Biosynthetic Process, Skeletal Muscle Fiber Development, Regulation of Carbohydrate Metabolic Process, Protein targeting to Nucleus, Autophagy
