- Background
- Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 17, also known as TNFRSF17, is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. The open reading frame of the gene encoding TNFRSF17 predicts a 184 amino acid protein with a single transmembrane domain that has no homology with any known protein sequences. This receptor is preferentially expressed in mature B lymphocytes, and may be important for B cell development and autoimmune response. TNFRSF17 also binds to various TRAF family members, and thus may transduce signals for cell survival and proliferation. Recombinant human TNFRSF17 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
