Western Blotting (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF)
    Specificity
The antibody detects endogenous level of total BCL-2 protein.
    Purification
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography usingepitope-specific immunogen.
    Immunogen
Peptide sequence around AA 68-72 (R-T-S-P-L) derived from Human BCL-2. Antibodies were produced by immunizing rabbits with synthetic peptide and KLH conjugates.
    Isotype

    Background
BCL-2 encodes an integral outer mitochondrial membrane protein that blocks the apoptotic death of some cells such as lymphocytes. Constitutive expression of BCL2, such as in the case of translocation of BCL2 to Ig heavy chain locus, is thought to be the cause of follicular lymphoma. Two transcript variants, produced by alternate splicing, differ in their C-terminal ends. Muller IM, et al. (2005) Mol Pharmacol.
