Purpose
JNK1/2/3 is a protein encoded by the MAPK8 gene which is approximately 48,2 kDa. JNK1/2/3 is localised to the cytoplasm and nucleus. It is involved in activated TLR4 signalling, the IL-2 pathway, TNFR1 pathway, toll-like receptor signalling pathways and the 4-1BB pathway. It acts as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals, and is involved in a wide variety of cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation and development. This kinase is activated by various cell stimuli, and targets specific transcription factors, therefore mediating immediate-early gene expression in response to cell stimuli. JNK1/2/3 is expressed in the nervous system, liver, blood, heart and lung. Mutations in the MAPK8 gene may result in fatty liver disease and renal fibrosis. STJ93806 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of JNK1/2/3 protein.
