    Purpose
Bcl-6 is a protein encoded by the BCL6 gene which is approximately 78,8 kDa. Bcl-6 is localised to the nucleus. It is involved in cytokine signalling in immune system, gene expression and FoxO signalling pathway. The protein encoded by this gene is a zinc finger transcription factor and contains an N-terminal POZ domain. It is mainly required for germinal centre formation and antibody affinity maturation which has different mechanisms of action specific to the lineage and biological functions. It forms complexes with different corepressors and histone deacetylases to repress the transcriptional expression of different subsets of target genes. Bcl-6 is expressed in germinal centre T- and B-cells and in primary immature dendritic cells. Mutations in the BCL6 gene may result in b-cell lymphomas. STJ96676 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Bcl-6 protein.
