- Storage Comment
-
Lyophilized protein should be stored at < -20°C, though stable at room temperature for 3 weeks.
Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-7°C for 2-7 days.
Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at < -20°C for 3 months.

- Background
-
Recombinant Mouse Ephrin-A5/Efna5 is produced by our mammalian expression system in human cells. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Gln21-Gln206) of Mouse Ephrin-A5 fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
Ephrin-A5 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein of the ephrin-A subclass of ephrin ligands that binds to the EphA subclass of Eph receptors. Ephrin-A5 has also been shown to bind to the EphB2 receptor. It is crucial for migration, repulsion and adhesion during neuronal, vascular and epithelial development. Ephrin-A5 binds promiscuously Eph receptors residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. The signaling pathway downstream of the receptor is referred to as forward signaling while the signaling pathway downstream of the ephrin ligand is referred to as reverse signaling. - Molecular Weight
