    Background
PTPN11, also known as tyrosine-protein phosphatase non-receptor type 11 isoform 2, belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family, non-receptor class 2 subfamily. It participates in signal transduction from the cell surface to the nucleus downstream of various receptor and cytosolic protein tyrosine kinases. This protein deficient cells have poor mobility because excessive phosphorylation of FAK and other proteins interferes with the rotation of cell attachment points in the focal adhesion complex. Recombinant human PTPN11, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
