Western Blotting (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF)
Specificity
Rabbit Anti GSK3alpha, (Phospho-Ser21) detects endogenous levels of GSK3alpha, only when phosphorylated at serine 21.
Characteristics
Molecular Weight: Predicted Band Size 51 kDa, Observed Band Size 51 kDa
Purification
The antibody is affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. The antibody against non-phosphopeptide is removed by chromatogramphy using non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the phosphorylation site.
Immunogen
Synthesized phosphopeptide derived from human GSK3alpha, around pSer21 (T-S-SP-F-A)
phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and C2+), pH7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02 % sodium azide, and 50 % glycerol
Preservative
Sodium azide
Precaution of Use
WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice
Briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container's cap because small volumes of antibody will occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
