Glutamate Dehydrogenase: Frequently cited antibody

Image for glutamate dehydrogenase
Glutamate is a majorexcitatory neurotransmitter. One enzyme central to the metabolism of glutamate is glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH 1 , EC 1.4.1.3), that catalyzes the reversible deamination of L-glutamate to 2-oxoglutarate using NAD+ or NADP+. Mammalian GDH is composed of six identical subunits, and the regulation of GDH is very complex.  » Read more

Y-box Protein-1 (YB-1): Monoclonal antibody detects nuclear YB-1

Area: Cancer
In a recent BMC Cancer article Peter R. Mertens et al show that the monoclonal anti-YB-1 antibody F-E2G5 detects nuclear YB-1. The nuclear localisation of YB-1 is associated with a poor survival rate. In addition a correlation between nuclear YB-1 and the abscence of progesterone receptor expression was uncovered. This correlation could indicate that the nuclear localisation of YB-1 is characteristic for a specific breast cancer subtype. For this study 179 breast cancer samples were analysed using immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded sections). »Show datasheet & publication reference
